| Text | Albert F. Rice, 81, of Monett, died at 4:20 a.m. yesterday, August 14, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. Mr. Rice was born August 3, 1926, in Elsie, the son of Bill and Mary Dovie Clevenger Rice. He was retired from the City of Monett where he was sanitation department superintendent. He was on the board of the Church of the Nazarene. He married Effie E. Shaffer on June 23, 1951, in Pierce City. Additional survivors include three sons, three daughters, and 29 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Rice. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 17, at Bennett-Wormington Chapel in Monett with Rev. Arnold Ray Evans officiating. Burial will be in Monett IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. tomorrow, August 16, at the funeral home. |
