Text | PURDY, MO - Mrs. Zettie Rhea, 80, Purdy Route 2, died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent’s hospital in Monett after a long illness. Mrs. Rhea was born Feb. 21, 1897, at Exeter, and had lived in the Purdy area for 60 years. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. She married Chester Rhea in February, 1917, at Exeter. She was survived by 7 sons and 4 daughters. She was preceded in death by one son, Charles Max Rhea. She had three brothers Robert May, Purdy and Cecil May and Porter May, both of Exeter, two sisters, Mrs. Mahala Williams, Exeter, and Mrs. Gertie Tucker, of the state of California that have died since their sister Zettie. Burial was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery at Butterfield. Services were at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. |
