Text | Elijah Reid passed peacefully away Thursday at one o'clock Nov. 26, 1916, at his home near Pea Ridge. The cause of his death was typhoid fever and heart trouble. The deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Reid. Elijah was 29 years, 6 months and 2 days old. He was born at his home near Sunnyside in 1885. When he was 18 years old he professed faith in Christ and united with the Christian Church. He lived a true Christian ever since. In 1904 he was married to Miss Bertha Buttry of Pea Ridge, Ark. To this union were born three children, of which two are living. He is also survived by a father, mother, two sisters and three brothers. Interment was made Friday at the Buttrum Chapel Cemetery following funeral services conducted by Rev. Thompson of Rogers, Ark. He was held in the highest esteem by his many friends. The community has lost a good citizen and a true friend his family a great comforter, and his wife, a life long companion. Research Note: Buttrum Chapel Cemetery is near Pea Ridge, Arkansas. |
