Text | Wilma (Holt) (Bailey) Reed, age 75, of Purdy, died at 2:10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, 2006, at her home. She was born on Feb. 28, 1931, and was a daughter of Bart and Grace (Laster) Holt, and was born in Cassville. She attended the House School located in the Antioch community. She was a member of the New Site Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was a Training Union Coordinator for many years. She was a long time resident of Barry County, and was an active volunteer at Crosslines in Monett. She married Johnnie Bailey on May 11, 1947, in Walsh, Colo. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1996, after 49 years of marriage. During their marriage they owned the Exeter Cafe for several years and raised six children. On June 2, 2000, she married her good friend and companion, Clinton Reed. Services were held Monday at the White Funeral Home in Cassville with Pastor Aaron Weibel and Pastor Paul Yarnall officiating. Her eight grandsons served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Charles, John Marney and Senator Emory Melton. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at the New Site Baptist Church, Monett, in care of the funeral home.
