Obit For Joseph Lee Raines
Headline JOE RAINES PASSES
Text - Outline Joseph L. Raines was born Jan. 28, 1897 and departed this life March 6, 1928. He was born and reared on the Raines farm on Washburn Prairie.

He was married to Miss Helen Apple on February 23, 1925. To this union was born one child who survives him.

This man believed in “doing unto others as you would have others do unto you” and he was honest and upright as it is possible for a man to be. Joe was respected by all who knew him and was a devoted husband and father, son and brother, and how he will be missed in the home only God knows.

He did not fear death, and his loved ones are sure that he is at rest and free from all pain and suffering, which he bore patiently.

He served his country during the last war, and it was while stationed at Camp Mc Arthur, Texas, that he had the flu, which finally led to his contracting the disease which caused his death.

There is to mourn his passing his wife, son, Paul, mother and four sisters, Gertrude at home, Mrs. Clarence Farwell, Cassville, Mo., Mrs. Ola Lough, Gifford, Idaho, and Mrs. Caddie Robertson, also two brothers, James of Monett, and Darl of Washburn, beside a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Vanzandt at Washburn Prairie church March 7, and was in charge of Horine and Nelson Undertakers.
