Text | Wesley Keith Quigg, 89, of Shell Knob, died at 5:45 p.m. May 7 at Carroll Regional Medical Center in Berryville, Arkansas, following a brief illness. Mr. Quigg was born December 9, 1909, in Springfield, the son of Charles W. and Mary Quigg. He was a 1926 graduate of Springfield High School and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a linotype operator in Topeka, Kansas, retiring in 1972 and moving to Shell Knob. He married Elma L. Woodard on June 23, 1940, and she preceded him in death in 1961. He married Anna M. Abmeyer on May 12, 1962, in Lawrence, Kansas, and she survives. Additional survivors include one step-son, James Abmeyer of Topeka, Kansas; one step-daughter, Carol Talley of Topeka, Kansas; nine step- grandchildren and 15 step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 14, at Park Cemetery in Columbus, Kansas, with Rev. Garland Bohn officiating under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Shell Knob. Military graveside rites will be conducted by members of Keith Reeves American Legion Post 3. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
