Text | Mrs. Caroline Jane Porter died Monday night at the home of her son, George Porter, in the Pasley locality. The deceased has been in poor health for some time. She was 81 years, 10 months and 10 days old. She had been twice married. She leaves four sons and one daughter. They are George and Will Porter and Mrs. J. A. Reed of Pasley and Mr. Tankersly of Seligman and a Mr. Tankersly of Ft. Smith, Ark. Funeral services in charge of Rev. J. T. Brattin were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Corinth church in the presence of a large number of friends and neighbors. Interment was made at the Corinth Cemetery. The deceased was a member of the Baptist Church and was held in high esteem by her acquaintances. |
