Text | Dorris V. Poe, 73, of Seligman, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2009, in St. John's Hospital-Cassville. He was born July 21, 1935, in Washburn, the son of Claud and Oma (Privitt) Poe. On April 3, 1961, he was united in marriage to Cleva Greek, who survives. He is also survived by three sons, Fred Poe, of Cassville, Ted Poe, of Seligman, and Ed Poe of Exeter; one daughter, Sonja Green and her husband, Luke, of Seligman; seven grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Freda Ruark, and four brothers, Ray, Wayne, Morris and James. He grew up and received his education in Washburn, graduating from Southwest High School. In 1958, he joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged from the reserves in 1964. He was a life-long resident of Barry County. He was a logger. Funeral services were held Saturday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Lawrence Shuey conducted the services. Burial was at Hickman Cemetery, Washburn. |
