Text | Lucille Planchon, 79, of Monett, died at 3:26 a.m. yesterday, March 5, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield following a brief illness. Mrs. Planchon was born November 18, 1920, in Monett, the daughter of John and Ruby (Blankenship) McDunner. She was a lifetime area resident, a homemaker, and was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Monett where she was active in the United Methodist Women. She has worked at election precincts in Monett. She married Elmer Planchon on June 4, 1939, in Purdy, and he preceded her in death March 9, 1988. She was preceded in death by one brother, Morris McDunner; and one sister, Gretchen Covel. Services will be 2 p.m. tomorrow, March 7, at Christ United Methodist Church in Monett with Rev. Mike Erving and Rev. Bruce Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Waldensian Cemetery near Monett under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, March 6, at the funeral home. |
