Text | Mrs. Mary Phillips, an old time and highly respected citizen, died at her home in this city, Thursday morning, aged 83 years. Her children, Mrs. John Hadley of near Butterfield, Mrs. Hiram Catron and Sol Phillips of the Indian T'y, Miss Jane and Thos. Phillips were with her when she died. She had been a member of the Baptist Church for many years, and had lived up to the teaching of that church. Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church yesterday morning by the Rev. J. T. Brattin, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Cassville Cemetery. Sweet rest is the reward of the fait. Research Note: Wife of William G. Phillips. Researchers say she was the daughter of David Sweet and Highly Manila Holton. |
