Obit For Major William F. Perkins
Headline OBITUARY
Text Major F. Perkins was born in Grayson County, Virginia, January 6, 1863. There in the midst of the Blue Ridge Mountains he grew to manhood. When about 28 years of age he was married to Miss Victoria Mink on Sept. 30, 1891, coming to Missouri, he settled near Belton. Here with his good wife engaged in farming and the dairying business. About the time of the late World War he sold out his interests and went to Florida. Later he settled near Rocky Comfort, Mo.

When about forty-five years of age he converted and joined the M. E. Church, South, at Belton. On coming to Newton County he placed his membership with the Methodist church of Rocky Comfort, Mo.

Following an attack of influenza his health broke down and gradually grew worse. He died at his home August 13, 1923, age 60 years, 7 months, and 7 days. He leaves a wife, three brothers and four sisters besides many friends to mourn his going.

His funeral was conducted by his pastor and the body laid to rest in the beautiful cemetery adjoining the city of Rocky Comfort amidst the picturesque surroundings of the Ozark Hills. Geo. W. Ellis
