Text | Hazel Forest Pennel, age 90, of Verona, died at 12:30 p.m. yesterday, July 13, at her home following a long illness. Mrs. Pennel was born January 26, 1910, in Verona, and was a daughter of Aaron and Hettie (Estes) Black. She was a retired teacher, and a member of Pleasant Ridge Church, Retired Teacher's Association, and Rebekah Lodge. She married Courtman Pennel on November 25, 1934, in Cassville, and he preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Black. Services will be 2:30 p.m. tomorrow, July 15, at Bennett-Wormington Chapel in Monett with Rev. Bill Young and Rev. Bob Russell officiating. Burial will be in Calton Cemetery in Monett under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, July 14, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Calton Cemetery Fund or the church. |
