Text | Gertrude P. Pendergraft, 74, of Fairview, passed away Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, in her home.
She was born Dec. 6, 1939, in Leavenworth, Kan., the daughter of Woodrow Balz and Martha (Dalton) Vanderpool, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her stepfather, Jeff Vanderpool; two brothers, Henry "Podge" Balz and Max Vanderpool; a half-brother, Sam Vanderpool; two sisters, Nina Mae Vanderpool and Patricia Vanderpool; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Survivors include: six daughters, Pam Halona, of Springville, Utah, Kathy Sloan and her husband, Kurt, of Rogersville, Shirley Johnson and her husband, Bill, of Fairview, Carla Cowgur, of Anderson, Brenda Bailey and her husband, Kenneth, of Vilonia, Ark., and Linda Pippin and her husband, Richard, of Seligman; six brothers, Frank Balz and his wife, Louise, of Porum, Okla., Junior Balz and his wife, Margaret, of Willits, Calif., Charles Vanderpool and his wife, Maria, of Springville, Utah, Allen Vanderpool and his wife, Rhonda, of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Ray Vanderpool and his wife, Julie, of Redwood Valley, Calif., and Mark Vandepool and his wife, Becky, of Stockton, Calif.; one half-brother, Tom Vanderpool and his wife, Shirley, of Westen, Neb.; 26 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. She received her education at the OK School at Washburn. She was a homemaker and had resided at Fairview the last three years. Services were held Monday in Fairview Community Center. Pastor Shawn Degonia conducted the services. Cremation arrangements were under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. |
