Dies at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis
Text Glenn Pearl of this city passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 2nd at the Barnes Hospital in St. Louis where he had been for more than a week. He was operated on soon after being taken to the hospital for a blood clot of the brain.

The report received here Monday from the hospital indicated that Mr. Pearl was in a dangerous condition. A message came Tuesday afternoon stating that he was passed away at 3:30 o’clock that afternoon.

Two weeks ago he was stricken while in Jefferson City on business in connection with the Highway Commission. Two days later he was brought to Cassville and remained for several days before going to St. Louis for the operation.

His body was brought to Cassville in the W.D. Koon ambulance, arriving here Wednesday morning about 7:30 o’clock.

Mr. Pearl was about fifty years old. He was born at Yates Center, Kan.

More than twenty-five years ago he located in Cassville, and a few years later he was united in marriage with Miss Missie Ray, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Ray of this city. To them were born five children, three daughters and two sons: one of the sons died in infancy. The living children are Mrs. Virginia Turner, Miss Rayma, Chas. and Kathryn.

For a number of years he was engaged in the real estate business here. Later he engaged in business for a year or more at Seminole, Okla. About three years ago he was appointed to a position in the right-of-way division of the district highway engineer’s office at Joplin and was in that work when he was stricken ill.

Mr. Pearl was a man of genial disposition and known generally among his friends as a man who always looked upon the bright side of life. His sudden illness and untimely death is a sad blow to his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the home of Mrs. Charles Ray on Friday afternoon. Burial will be made in the Oak Hill cemetery, the Koon Funeral Services in charge.
