Text | Services for Mrs. Dovey Louise Payton, 82, Lanagan, who died at 2 p.m., Thursday at Gravette (Ark.) Medical Center where she had been a patent six days, will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday at Ozark Funeral Home, Anderson. The Rev. Johnnie Williams will officiate, and burial will be in Union Cemetery, east of Anderson. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Payton was born Feb. 23, 1891 in Berryville Ark., and lived in this area most of her life. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by four sons, Carl Payton, Kansas City, Kan., Charles Everett Payton, Bellingham, Wash., Johnny Payton Cassville and Eugene Payton, Belleville, Mich., Three daughters, Mrs. Goldie Smith, Tecumseh, Mich., Mrs. Daisy Neeper, Lynwood, Calif., and Mrs. Sylvia Thompson, Naches, Wash., 32 grand children and 28 great-grandchildren. Research Note: Dovey was a daughter of America Simpson and Elijah Bailey. She was a half-sister to John Simpson and James Harvey Mooney who are both buried in Washburn Prairie Cemetery. |
