| Text | #1. Gunter News: George Payne, son of Charles Payne, died Monday evening at 7:30 O'clock of spinal meningitis. He took sick Sunday morning and suffered severely. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon and interment made at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. #2. Gunter News: George Payne died very suddenly, the first day of this month, having been sick only two days. He was found unconscious Sunday morning about five o'clock and died Monday p.m. about 7:30 of what was thought to be spinal meningitis. He came from Texas this spring with his parents. They have the heartfelt sympathy of all in their hours of trouble. Research Note: He was the son of Charles A. Payne and Tempa Riddle. |
