| Text | Laura (Jeffries) Passmore, 97, of Lancaster, California, formerly of Monett, died August 15 at her home. Mrs. Passmore was born June 23, 1903, in Monett. She lived the past 25 years in California. She was a member of Almond Grove Baptist Church in Lancaster and a former member of Order of the Eastern Star and Business and Professional Womens Association. She was married to Chester M. Passmore, and he preceded her in death in 1974. Survivors include one step-daughter, of Harlingen, Texas; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Josephine Mann in 1988; one step-son, William Passmore in 1997; and one sister, Louise Howerton. Graveside services were 11:30 a.m. August 19 at Monett IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Joseph A. Butler and Son Funeral Home in Kansas City. |
