POLE PACKWOOD DEAD

Another good citizen has passed to the great beyond leaving a record of honesty and uprightness as a heritage for his many relatives and friends to follow. Pole Packwood as he was familiarly called by his acquaintances was born in Barry County and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Packwood, old and respected citizens of this county, during life. He left many relatives to mourn his passing.

He passed away Sunday, at his home on head waters of Shoal Creek, Aug. 8, 1920, and funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. M. Smith at the Baptist Church in Exeter, where a very large crowd of sorrowing relatives and friends had assembled to pay the last tribute of love and respect to the departed. The remains were interred in Maplewood Cemetery at that place.

We attempted to get a biography of his life, but will probably have it next week.
