Text | Funeral services for
Rev. Fred McPhail, 65, well known Baptist minister who died at his Aurora
home suddenly yesterday morning, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the
Aurora First Baptist Church with Rev. Charley Hemphill, Rev. Tim Larkin and
Rev. Paul Pease officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Park Cemetery at Aurora under direction of the Marsh Funeral Home. Members of the deacon board of the church will serve as pallbearers and music will be furnished by the congregation. Rev. McPhail had served as pastor of the Aurora First Baptist Church since January 1, 1944. He attended school at Anderson and was graduated from Southwest Baptist College at Bolivar. He served as pastor of the Arnhart, Calvary and Purdy Baptist Churches in Barry County as well as at Verona and Willow Springs. He had served as moderator and vice president of the Missouri Baptist Convention, was a member of the Missouri Baptist state board, Children's Hospital board, and Southwest Baptist College Board, Rev. McPhail was also a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the Scottish Rite. Survivors include his wife, a daughter, a sister, a brother, two grandchildren, and one great grandchild. |
