| Text | Mayme McCracken, 89, of Purdy, died at 7 p.m.
yesterday, December 27, at her home following a long illness. Mrs. McCracken was born March 2, 1912, in Butterfield, the daughter of James Henry and Nancy Elizabeth (Perkins) McGuire. She was a homemaker and a member of the Gunter Methodist Church near Purdy. She married Floyd McCracken on July 9, 1933, in Butterfield, and he preceded her in death in 1981. Survivors include two sons, both of Purdy; one daughter, of Purdy, 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Daniel McCracken, in 1996. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 31, at Gunter Methodist Church near Purdy with Rev. Jerry Nickle officiating. Burial will be in Arnhart Cemetery near Purdy under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. |
