Text | Mrs. Stella McClure, wife of J. W. McClure, prominent Exeter Canner and stockman, passed away at their home in Exeter Sunday afternoon, March 3, of a heart attack. Mrs. McClure died suddenly. Her health had been poor for a long while. Funeral services are being held this afternoon, Thursday, March 7, in Exeter conducted by Rev. J. A. Burris of Cassville. Burial is to be in Maplewood cemetery there. Mrs. McClure was 66 years old. She was a daughter of Jacob McBride, pioneer Exeter merchant. She was one of Exeter’s finest women and her sudden passing brought deep grief to her numerous friends as well as to her family. Surviving of the immediate family are her husband, one son, Lee McClure, and four daughters. One daughter, Mrs. John Elliston’s home is in Exeter, the youngest daughter Mrs. Annabell Wright, lives in Springfield; two Mrs. Maud Rogers and Mrs. Irene Cagle lives in Oregon.
