Text | Another splendid citizen has passed to the great beyond, leaving five brothers, one sister, and many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. For seventy-one years , 7 months and twenty-one days, all the days of her lie she had been a resident of this county and had resided at the McCary home, 3 3/4 miles southwest of this city. She was a daughter of the late Hon. and Mrs. Henry McCary, well known and highly respected citizens of this county during life. She was born May 26, 1844 at the McCary homestead.
Miss Nannie McCary died Jan. 24, 1916 of mephritis. Her family was well known to all the older families of this county and she enjoyed the esteem and respect of everybody who had the pleasure of her acquaintance. She leaves five brothers and one sister to morn her passing as follows: B.F. McCary of near Washburn Joe McCary of near Exeter, Asberry McCary of near Fairview Thos. B. and John McCary and Mrs. Jennie Mitchell of near this city. Funeral services were conducted Thursday at the McCary home, by Rev. E W Love of this city after which the remains were interred in the family cemetery on the McCary homestead. A vacancy has been made in a home where the deceased will be missed because of her many womanly graces, splendid disposition and high character that proved her great worth as a happy home maker and she will be sadly missed by her relatives.
