Text | Mrs. James McCary died at her home on the old Asbury McCary farm near Exeter Friday morning, Oct. 29, after and illness of about one year of cancer. She underwent an operation last spring at Indianapolis, Ind., but received no permanent relief and had been very low for many weeks. Mrs. McCary was a sister of Dr. McCall of Rocky Comfort and Mrs. S.P. Roseberry of Exeter. She leaves a husband but no children. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at Exeter. Wm. Ferguson a respected citizen of Exeter, was a visitor to this city Monday. He said there was a very large crowd at the funeral of Mrs. Jas. McCary, Saturday at Concord church where Dr. Campbell of Fayetteville, Ark., delivered an able funeral sermon for the benefit of the living. The patience of the deceased in her long suffering was exemplified in a way that should be convincing to the relatives and friends, that she bore that noble fortitude, that means a life of everlasting in the Holy City, where some sweet, sweet day it is the hope of everyone to meet those loved ones that have gone hence.
