Mrs. McCall was widely known and a whole host of acquaintances throughout Barry and McDonald counties will feel the loss of a real friend. She was the mother of twelve children, five of whom survive her. Her husband, Dr. M. D. L. McCall, a practicing physician in the district for several years, died at his home in Exeter, April 14, 1914.

Margaret Ellen Woods was born in Benton County, Ark. Mar. 31, 1837 and at the age of 6 years moved with her parents to Lawrence County, Mo. where she grew up to young womanhood. In 1855 she was married to Dr. M. D. L. McCall and 12 years later moved to Rocky Comfort, Mo. Since that time they have lived in Barry and McDonald Counties.
