Text - Outline | S. P. McGruder was born in Bulitt Co., Kentucky, on February 11, 1852, and died in Exeter, Mo., on March 23, 1934, at the age of 82 years, one month and 12 days. He was converted at the age of 26 years and joined the Baptist church, remaining a faithful member to death. He moved to Central, Okla., in 1907 and lived there for ten years, moving to Barry County, and had lived within four miles of Cassville since that time. He was the last of a family of 20 children, his father having been married three times. He was married to Minerva E. Burba, October 10. 1878. Two children were born to this union, Mrs. Ella Honneycutt and Lee McGruder. Beside his wife and two children he leaves two grandsons, Lee Roy and Charles McGruder and one nephew. O.N. Roby of Exeter. He lived a faithful Christian life and was a kind, loving husband and father. Funeral services were held at the Antioch Church, on Saturday afternoon, March 24, by Chas Vanzandt. Burial was in the Antioch cemetery, under the direction of the Koon Funeral Service. Research Note: Missouri Death Cert. # 7728 Name: S.
