Text - Outline | William T. “Bill” McDougall, age 79, of Monett, MO passed away on Friday, September 4, 2009 at his residence following a lengthy illness. Bill was born on December 24, 1929 in Hoxie, AR, the son of William Ira McDougall and Vera Ouida (Murphy) McDougall. Moving from Purdy, MO to Monett, Bill had worked for Jumping Jack Shoes Company for over 45 years as a Purchasing Agent. In 1947, Bill began his 22 year enlistment with the Army National Guard. Bill had many passions in life, one being sports. Bill was a Referee for over 38 years in the area. He was a member of the Missouri Athletic Officials Association and a Rules Interpreter for Southwest Missouri Football. He was a member of the Monett American Legion Post and a member of the First Baptist Church, Monett. Bill married Edith L. “Sue” Ingle on June 15, 2002 in Monett at the First Baptist Church. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sue; two sons, Jerry Taylor and Bruce McDougall; one daughter, Janie Ingram; and one sister, Nancy Harvill. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the New Site Baptist Church in Monett with Reverend Aaron Weibel and Reverend Jimmy Copley officiating. Interment will full military honors will be at the Monett I.O.O.F. Cemetery. The family invites friends to visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. |
