Text | James Madison Myers was born June 5, 1856 in Lee County, Virginia and
departed this life Nov. 10, 1938 at his home in Wheaton, Mo., at the age of
82 years, 5 months and 5 days. He was united in marriage to Mattie Jones in 1881. In 1884 they moved from Virginia to a farm near Purdy where they lived until 1915, then moving to Wheaton where he spent the remainder of his life. He was converted while in Virginia in 1881, uniting with the Methodist Church and lived a devoted Christian life until death. He is survived by his wife and brother Floyd of Powell, Mo., and George, of Lee County, Virginia. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Nov. 13 at the Wheaton Methodist Church by the Rev. Sherman and Albion Erickson of Monett. Burial was in the Clark Cemetery under the direction of Pogue’s Funeral Service. |
