Text | Leland Mutrux, 77, of Wheaton, died at 10:01 p.m. July 17 at his home in Wheaton following a long illness. Mr. Mutrux was born December 2, 1921, near Cassville, the son of Harold and Effie (Hankins) Mutrux. He was an Army veteran of World War II, owned and operated Mutrux Garage in Rocky Comfort for 26 years, raised cattle and farmed south of Wheaton since 1973, and attended Prosperity Baptist Church in Rocky Comfort. He married Elaine Duncan Mutrux on July 12, 1944, in Fairview. Survivors include four sons, three brothers, and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Lynn Mutrux. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 22, at Prosperity Baptist Church in Rocky Comfort with Rev. Dale Keel and Rev. Mike Renfrow officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Comfort Cemetery under the direction of McQueen Funeral Home of Wheaton. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow, July 21, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to College of the Ozarks. |
