Text | Milford H. "Mel" Mustain, 84, of Monett, died at 6 a.m. yesterday, April
11, at Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett. Mr. Mustain was born November 9, 1914, in Elijah, the son of Robert and Vena (Long) Mustain. He was a 1934 graduate of Monett High School, lived in Pasadena, California, for several years, returning to Monett in 1989. He was a graduate of Pasadena City College, California State College of Los Angeles, and Pasadena Nazarene College. He taught at Pasadena High School until retiring and was a Army veteran of World War II. He married Wanda Cullen in 1939 in Vincennes, Indiana, and she preceded him in death in 1974. Survivors include two sisters, both of Monett and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Vencil Mustain in 1980; and one sister, Loree Adair in 1981. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, at Monett IOOF Cemetery with Dr. Michael Block officiating under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. tomorrow, April 13, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lacoba Nursing Home. |
