Headline | AGED MAN DROPS DEAD MOWING LAWN REMAINS OF AMOS MORELAND OF WASHBURN FORWARDED TO TEXAS FOR INTERMENT |
Text | Amos Moreland, an old time citizen, residing with his daughter, Mrs. Taylor and family in old town at Washburn, 8 miles south of this city, dropped dead last Wednesday afternoon while mowing the lawn at his daughter’s home. Mr. Moreland was 88 years old and apparently had been in good health. It is thought the pushing of the lawn mower was too much for him, causing him to expire. His body was brought to the undertaking parlor of Hankins Funeral Service in this city, where it was prepared for burial and was forwarded to Sherman, Texas, Friday evening, where interment was made. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Taylor at Washburn, at whose home he died and another daughter who lives in Dallas, Texas. He was a good citizen and stood high in the estimation of his acquaintances in that section. Research Note: Death Certificate listed on the MO SOS web site as Morland.
