| Text | Charles Morgan who had been afflicted for many years passed away Monday, July 22 at the county home, death having come very suddenly, at the age of 44 years, 4 months and 6 days. The funeral services were conducted at the Horner Baptist Church southeast of this city Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock and the body laid to rest in the cemetery nearby. Charles Eldon Morgan was born in Joplin March 16, 1874. He was a son of Rev. Marion Morgan now of Newton County but four years a well-known minister of this county. As a boy Charles lived in the Mt. Sinai and location east of Cassville and was well-known here. He had been afflicted for many years. He leaves father, Rev. Marion Morgan, a sister, Mrs. D. L. Cox, and five brothers. The five brothers are: Sam, Columbus and Richard of Newton County and James of Nebraska and Walter of Oklahoma. All attended the funeral except James and Walter. |
