| Text | The last of an old time and respected family of Barry county has passed to her reward and is the last one of the original family of the late Hon. Henry and Mrs. Jane McCary, well known and highly respected citizens of this county. Mrs. M. Jane McCary Mitchell died January 14, 1925, at her home in Long Beach, Calif., at the age of 78 years, and 7 months. She was born four miles southwest of Cassville, on the state highway, June 14, 1846. Her father, Hon. Henry McCary died May 8, 1891, aged 81 years and 6 months; her mother, Mrs. Jane McCary, died Dec. 7, 1887, at the age of 61 years and 8 months. Her son, Henry McCary of Long Beach, Calif., survives the mother, as well as several nephews and nieces. He accompanied the remains. The remains arrived at Exeter Monday and were conveyed to the home of her nephew, Campbell McCary, where Rev. Chas. Vanzandt conducted impressive funeral services.
