| Text | Ollie Belle Ward, daughter of the late Samuel J. and Mary Ellen Ward departed this life on Monday Aug. 7th at 7 o’clock P. M., age 70 years, 7 months and 3 days. Ollie was born in Salisbury, MO, Jan. 4th 1874. She came to Barry Co., with her parents, when about 8 years of age, which has since been her home. She was married to David Clark Mills on Feb. 17th, 1892 at Forest Grove, the late J. W. Ennis, officiating. To this union was born six children, W. A. Mills, Taft, TX; Levi, who preceded her in death 2 years ago; Thomas C. Mills of Konawa, OK; Clara of the home and Robert Mills of Jenkins. Besides her husband and heart-broken children, she leaves one sister, Mrs. M. E. Stockton, Casper, WY; one half-brother Riley Brown, Cassville, eleven grandchildren, with a host of relatives and friends. Aunt Ollie, as she was generally called had been afflicted for years, but she bore her suffering with patience. She was a good wife, and loving mother. She will be missed by all who knew her, for to know her was to love her. She was laid to rest at Oak Ridge on Wednesday Aug. 9th. F. M. Reynolds of Springfield, and old friend of the family, conducted the funeral. The large crowd and beautiful flowers spoke more that words of the high esteem in which she was held. |
