Text | At Fairview last Friday afternoon, Jan.
1, Clifford Miller, the 16 year old son of Charles H. Miller, cashier of the
First National Bank of Fairview, killed himself accidentally, while crawling
through a hedge fence near his home, when a shotgun he was carrying was
discharged. The charge entered his left breast, killing him instantly. Clifford, his brother, Leonard, age 12 and Ora Haywood, age 15, were returning from a rabbit hunt. In crawling through the hedge fence one of the hammers of Clifford's gun caught on a twig, discharging the gun. Corner Bigham went to Fairview and held an inquest on the body of the young man Saturday, the verdict of the jury being accidental death. The body being taken to Carthage for burial.
