Text | Opal Irene Miller, 85, of Cassville, died May 16 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield following a brief illness. Mrs. Miller was born March 31, 1914, in the Shoal Creek area east of Wheaton, the daughter of George C. and Bertie Rhea Lauderdale. She was a graduate of Wheaton High School, a homemaker, and a member of New Hope Baptist Church near Butterfield. She married Ray H. Miller on February 6, 1932, and he preceded her in death August 8, 1989. Survivors include one daughter, Jean Stark of Springfield; one son, Frank Miller of Butterfield; four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Services were held yesterday, May 18, at Fohn Chapel in Cassville with Rev. Charlie Lauderdale and Rev. Bob Scott officiating. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home of Cassville. Irene Miller, 85, of Cassville, died May 16 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.
