| Text | Cynthia Jane Metcalf, born September 15, 1874, in Monett, Mo., and departed this life October 22, 1959 in Enid, Okla., at the age of 85 years, 1 month and 7 days. In 1890 she was united in marriage to Henry Metcalf of Monett and to this union six children were born. She had spent her entire life in Barry County until moving to Enid, Okla., with her daughters in 1957 when she could no longer live by herself because of failing health. A member of the Bible Baptist Church of Cassville of which she was a very faithful member as long as her health permitted. She leaves to survive two sons, three daughters, two sisters and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, one brother and four sisters. Cynthia, as she called by her many friends was a very devoted and loving Christian mother, grandmother and sister and will be missed not only by her family, but by all who knew her. Funeral services were conducted by 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon in the Williamson Chapel In The Valley with Rev. C. F. Siler and Horace Nutt officiating.
