| Text | Died Mar. 2, Robert Means at his home 4 miles north of Monett. Born Feb. 28, 1815, near Hopkinsville, Jackson County, KY. Came to Missouri and married Polly R. Ferguson of Lawrence County on Nov. 13, 1840. Had 13 children, 5 boys and 6 girls living. 2 daughters died in infancy. Leaves wife and children. Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Researcher's notes: Robert & Mary Means lived in Lawrence County, MO, however, many of their descendants are found in Barry County, MO. Robert was born in Hopkinsville, KY, but it is located in Christian Co., KY. Robert married Mary Ferguson on Nov., 19, 1849, Lawrence Co., MO. Robert was son of Joseph Means and Elizabeth (Cravens) Means and he had the following siblings: Absolom, Finis, James, Joseph,Jr., Mary Ann, & Eliza. Robert's wife, Mary R. (Polly) was the daughter of James Ferguson, Jr., and Mary (Polly) (Neal) Ferguson. |
