Obit For Helen E. (Sullivan) (Sivadon) Meador

Text - Outline Helen E. Meador, age 96, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, formerly of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 6, 2009, at the home of her grandson.

She was born May 15, 1913, in Barry County, Missouri, the daughter of Carl and Clara (Brown) Sullivan. In 1930, she was united in marriage to Jack Sivadon, and to this union two children were born. She later married Fred Meador, who preceded her in death in 1976. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Joyce Vaughan and her husband, Charles Vaughan; one son, Carl “Freddy” Sivadon; three brothers, Frank Sullivan and two brothers in infancy; four sisters, Elaine Loe, Ella Maus, Ruby Sullivan and Mary Pearl Frost and two great grandsons, John Charles Vaughan and Jacob Albert Vaughan.

She is survived by three grandsons, one granddaughter, eleven great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, who was born on her 96th birthday; one daughter-in-law, one sister-in-law, of Lebanon, Missouri and a special family she considered as her own, as well as, other nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Helen grew up and received her education in Barry County. She was a homemaker and also worked in the Meador-Haddock Hardware Store for several years. She enjoyed crocheting afghan and baby blankets for various family and friends. She also loved baking cookies and pies, and sharing those with others. She was an avid Kansas City Chiefs’ fan. Helen enjoyed going to her great-grandkids sporting events and helping take care of them when they visited Cassville on vacation. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cassville and enjoyed volunteering at the church. She passed away peacefully knowing Christ’s death on the cross reconciled her to God the Father.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 12, 2009, in First Baptist Church, Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Reverend James Weaver will conduct the services. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville.
