Obit For Eva Leona (Hayward) Maupin

Text Mrs. Eva Leona Maupin, widow of the late John F. Maupin, passed away in Cassville Wednesday, Jan. 26.

Mrs. Maupin had suffered a stroke first on January 13th. It is believed that it was a second stroke that resulted in her death.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, Jan. 23, at the Methodist church in Cassville. The services were conducted by Rev. Basil N. Mote of Pineville. He was assisted by Rev. Watson, Pastor of Cassville Methodist church; Rev. Verdayne Dodson, Pastor of the Baptist church and by Rev. Frank, a life-long friend of the family.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery with the Culver Undertakers in charge.

Eva Leona Hayward, was born Nov. 9, 1867 at Carlinville, IL.

She was united in marriage to John J. Maupin Nov. 12, 1885. To this union three children were born, two of whom preceded her in death.

Surviving is her daughter, Mrs. Frankie Hankins.

Mr. Maupin passed away in 1935.

The family lived in the Oak Ridge community for more than 20 years. Mrs. Maupin was a fine Christian woman and held in high esteem by a host of good friends and neighbors.
