| Text | Shirley J. Matney, 66, of Monett, died yesterday, December 25, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. Mrs. Matney was born April 17, 1941, in Harrisonville, the daughter of Noland and Nell (Mustin) Blaylock. She was a homemaker and a member of River of Life in Monett. She married Glendon Ray Matney on May 17, 1958, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and he preceded her in death December 25, 1993. Survivors include one son, of Verona; two daughters, of Monett, and of Santa Clarita, California; one brother, of Monett; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Anna Blaylock. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 29, at Monett IOOF Cemetery with Rev. Sherman Burrus officiating under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow, December 28, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. |
