Text | Kate Marney, 91, of Rocky Comfort, died yesterday, February 9, at Medicalodge in Neosho. Mrs. Marney was born August 1, 1912, in Rocky Comfort, the daughter of John and Ida (Murphy) McNeill. She worked 30 years as a cook at Rocky Comfort School. She was a member of Bethlehem Church. She married Champ Marney on January 11, 1932, and he preceded her in death in 1976. Survivors include three sons, of Cassville, of Rocky Comfort, and of Humboldt, Kansas; one daughter, of Wheaton; 21 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Haufler; five brothers and five sisters. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, February 12, at McQueen Chapel in Wheaton with Melvin Anders officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Comfort Cemetery under the direction of McQueen Funeral Home of Wheaton. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow, February 11, at the funeral home. |
