Obit For Eysel David "Bill" Marbut

Eysel David "Bill" Marbut, 96, passed from this life Saturday, August 5 in Monett Health Care Center.

He was born on October 27, 1909 at the Marbut family farm near McDowell, Missouri, to William H. and Missouri (Calton) Marbut. He attended Aurora High School, and University of Missouri, Columbia.

Bill met his best friend and the love of his life, Kathleen Amye Dyer of McDowell and they were married December 26, 1944.

Survivors include two daughters and one grandson.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and Onan and two sisters, Delphine and Nadine.

Services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett. Family will receive friends Tuesday, August 8, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Calton Cemetery, south of Pleasant Ridge. Memorial contributions may be made to The Calton Cemetery Association, or Community Hospice of Monett in care of Buchanan Funeral Home.

He was born on October 27, 1909, at the Marbut family farm near McDowell, Missouri, to William H. and Missouri (Calton) Marbut. He attended Aurora High School and University of Missouri, Columbia.

Bill met his best friend and the love of his life, Kathleen Amye Dyer, of McDowell, and they were married December 26, 1944, in Rogers, Arkansas.

Bill's professional career started in the citrus fruit industry, working for Bruce's Juices in Tampa, Florida. His talent for equipment maintenance was in special demand following World War II, taking Bill and Kathleen to job sites that included Jamaica, Belize, Cuba and Valencia, Spain.

In 1949 they returned to the Marbut family farm where Bill became the second generation of Marbuts to live on and work his 120-acre home. He continued his career with the milk plant in Monett that was later to become Mid-America Dairy, retiring in 1974. He them returned to work to assist Schreiber Foods in opening their Monett facility, finally retiring in 1978.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and Onan, and two sisters, Delphine and Nadine.

Services were held August 9, at Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett. Interment was at Calton Cemetery, south of Pleasant Ridge.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Calton Cemetery Association or Community Hospice of Monett in care of Buchanan Funeral Home.
