Text Ruby Smith Marbut was born December 31, 1923 in Purdy, Missouri, to Thurman Oliver and Lula Anne Smith. Ruby was married to Raymond Jackson Marbut who preceded her April 12, 2003. Ruby was also preceded in death by one son, Jackie Scott Marbut who died shortly after birth.

Also preceding Ruby were her two brothers, J. D. Smith and Donald Smith; her three sisters, Beatrix Smith, Fontella Bennett, and Faye Edwards.

Ruby was a resident of Springdale, Arkansas. She was called to Heaven on Monday, November 4, 2013, at 3:15 p.m.

Ruby is survived by her loving family: son, Michael Marbut and wife, Pamela, daughter, Lisa Waguespack and husband, Steven; and grandchildren, Cody Marbut and mother Carla Marbut, Stevie Waguespack, and Renae Waguespack, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Ruby's love for floral work, making jewelry, and traveling was only exceeded by her love for family and friends. Ruby was known as "Nanny" to her family. Nanny, we love you and we will miss you until we join you in Heaven.

Visitation was held at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale on Friday, November 8, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The Funeral was held at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. A short graveside service was held at Sparks Cemetery in Butterfield, Missouri, at 2:30 p.m.
