Text | Naomi Mae "Toots" Marbut, 91, of Cassville, passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, in Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
She was born Dec. 14, 1920, in Mason City, Neb., the daughter of R. G. and Elsie M. (Anderson) Jinks. On April 29, 1939, in Cassville, she was united in marriage to Oliver Marbut, who preceded her in death on June 1, 1986. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include: two sons, Paul Sandberg and his wife, Ethel, of Pleasant Hill, and Gary Marbut and his wife, Darla, of Cassville; three daughters, Joyce Ward, of Springfield, Ruby Samberson and her husband, Robert, of Wills Point, Texas, and Kay Miller and her husband, Bill, of Joplin; one brother Cecil Jinks, of Locust Gove, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She received her education in Nebraska and Cassville. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Gunter Methodist Church at Purdy and also attended services at Cassville First Baptist Church. Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) in Gunter Methodist Church, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Jerry Nickle and Rev. James Weaver conducted the services. Burial was at Gunter Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Gunter Cemetery in memory of Naomi. |
