Obit For Frederick L. "Fred" Marbut

Text Mr. Frederick L. "Fred" Marbut, 85, of Joplin, Missouri departed this life on Monday, Dec. 24, 2012 at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri after a recent decline in health.

Fred entered this life on Feb. 11, 1927 in Purdy, Mo., one of eleven children born to the late Hurshell and Blanch (Carter) Marbut. He was raised in the Purdy, Mo. area and has been a resident of Joplin, Mo. since 1965. He was a commercial painter throughout his life and was owner of Marbut's Painting. He enjoyed fishing, was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby Marbut on Jan. 23, 2001; and eight siblings.

Fred is survived by three sons, David R. Marbut of the state of Texas, Joe Marbut of Duquesne, Missouri and Paul Marbut of Duenweg, Mo.; a daughter, Renee Marbut of Tyler, Texas; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two brothers, Allen Marbut of the state of California and Royal Marbut of the state of New Mexico; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Marbut are 9:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at Calton Cemetery near Monett, Missouri with Pastor Kyle Beverlin officiating.
