Text | Mary H. Mahurin, 85, of Washburn, MO, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2001, in Medicalodge of Neosho, MO. She was born May 12, 1916 in Washburn, Mo., (Star Hollow), the daughter of Richard Butler and Katie Clare (James) Day. She was united in marriage to Hershell Benjamin Mahurin who preceded her in death April 4, 1968, at Stella, Mo. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Bob and Larry Mahurin; one great-great-granddaughter, Destiny Raine Soule; four brothers, Walter, John, Albert and Henry Day; six sisters, Lona Dalton, Pearl Morris, Bess Bailey, Irene Banks, Nell Lee, and Dorothy Laney. Mary is survived by one son, Richard B. Mahurin and his wife Jane of Rogers, Ark.; one daughter Betty J. Fletcher and her husband Pete of Gravette, Ark.; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. She received her education in a one room schoolhouse in Star Hollow. Mary was a homemaker and a life long resident of Washburn, Mo. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. The last four years of her life she had been a resident of Medicalodge of Neosho; however, she kept up on the local news of Washburn. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 14, 2001, at Mt. Comfort Holiness Tabernacle, seven miles west of Washburn. The Rev. Franky Parson conducted the services. Burial was in Dent Cemetery under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home in Cassville, Mo. |
