Text | Floyd Luney died on September 27, 2007 in Sacramento. He was born on February 26, 1925 in Butterfield, Missouri. Floyd served in the U. S. Navy during WWII, continuing with 26 years of service working for the U. S. Air Force. Floyd was actively involved as an Amateur Radio Operator since the late 1950s. He worked closely with the Civil defense, Western Country Cousins, and various other emergency and disaster communications operations most of his life. Floyd retired in 1978 to Gualala, Calif., and lived there until 2000, when he returned to Sacramento. Floyd is survived by his son and wife, of Sacramento, and daughter and husband of Oregon. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, October 2, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and funeral services at Sacramento Memorial Lawn, 6100 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento on Wednesday Oct. 3 at 1:00 p.m. |
