| Text | Olen Clarence Long, 87, of Monett, died at 8 p.m. yesterday, April 3, at Cox Monett Hospital following a long illness. Mr. Long was born August 10, 1914, in Purdy, the son of Clarence and Verna Smith Long. He was a retired carpet layer and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church near Monett. He married Edwinna Inman on February 1, 1936, in Purdy, and she preceded him in death May 26, 1998. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at Bennett-Wormington Chapel in Monett with Rev. Ron Howerton and Rev. Lee Neill officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery near Monett under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. tomorrow, April 5, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Easyville Church Building Fund. |
