| Text | Ocie C. Long, 79, Neosho, died at 6:20 p.m. Satruday at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, after a seven month illness. Mr. Long was born May 12, 1912, at Rocky Comfort and was a lifelong Newton County resident. He had worked for 26 years as a mechanic for Don's Honda, Neosho, retired in 1974. He later worked as a farmer. He was a member, elder and deacon of Lone Star Church of Christ, south of Granby. He married Ruth McCleary on Aug. 7, 1937, in Neosho. She survives. Additional survivors include a son, E. H. Long, of the home; and four sisters. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Clark Chapel of Memories. Burial will be in Rocky Comfort Cemetery, Rocky Comfort. Pallbearers listed in obit. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. |
