Text | Byrl Marcell Long, 83, of Rocky Comfort, Mo., died Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, at his home. He was born Jan. 18, 1922, in Rocky Comfort, the son of Arvel and Lois (McClure) Long. In April 1997 he was united in marriage to Betty Vincent who survives. He is also survived by two daughters; one step-son; a step-daughter; five grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; three great grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorene, and two sisters. Byrl was a lifelong resident of Rocky Comfort. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Drury College and was a middle school teacher. Byrl loved taking care of his cattle and farming. He was a member of the Prosperity Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005, at Rocky Comfort Cemetery, Rocky Comfort, Mo., under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton, Mo. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at McQueen Funeral Home. |
